"got my 3 year old one he rode it for a month then we took the training wheels off his other bike and he took of pedaling never looking back. my 16 month old hoped on the stride and took right off! he is now 32 months old and balances and keeps up to me on my big bike! BEST INVESTMENT EVER!!! (the only thing is make sure and walk down steep hills..my boy is missing a front tooth from going to fast down a hill! but boys will be boys). (this is one bike that will be put in the attic for my grandchildren to enjoy as well)"

"the neighbor's kids and ours both used walk/run bikes first and I highly recommend them. DD was 4(using it 5 months, she grew to tall) and the neighbor's DS was 3 (using it almost two years), both decided they should ride 'big' bikes (at 5 and 4 respectively) and were on their own in 5 mins. The next two DS (3) and neighbor's DD (3) have both been riding 2 or 3 months, the neighbor's DD has even attempted a pedal bike. The biggest reason to buy a pedal less bike is the bike will teach them the balance/steering skills and create the confidence so important to riding a regular bike. Do know that all 4 kids LOVE to ride down hills (hills we sled down in winter) and that will give you grey hair. :) "

"I just bought one for my daughter's 5th bday. She is having trouble learning to balance on a regular bike so I thought I would give it a try. I also ordered the higher seat separate so she could use it (since she is rather tall). She loves it and rides it well already (2 days). After this I will be passing it on to my younger daughter and the dayhome kids to use! Definitely gonna get my moneys worth out of it:) Highly recommended prebike!"

Valco Hitchiker with other brands of strollers
The following was provided to me by a Valco Hitchiker user (thanks Anne)

| Picture 1 is the part that wraps around the stroller bar. The 'tire tracks strap' grip the track marks on the square part, the strap is 20 cm long, BUT it must wrap around the stroller bar and then touch the square part. I would guess the max bar thickness of about 5 cm. This part slides into the square part in picture 2. |

| Picture 2 Where my thumb is where the pin on the board attaches this part, which would be attached to your stroller. There are two parts here, the top one wraps around the stroller bar and the large square part at the bottom locks the parts to your stroller and accepts the board. These two pieces stay on your stroller, while the board is removable. |

| Picture 3 This is the arm that connects the board to the stroller connection. The pin hooks into the slot where my finger is in picture 2. The holes are where you make adjustments for the distance from the stroller. There is also a round part (left side, almost out of the picture) which allows you to adjust the angle of the board. really do love this board, it saved us from having to buy a double or sit and stand stroller. |
